About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper & Buyside Consulting Analyst to support accounting, bookkeeping, and M&A advisory activities. This hybrid role includes full-charge bookkeeping and financial analysis to aid buyside due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate is QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified (Desktop & Online), technically strong, highly analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role suits someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting and higher-level financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification in Desktop and Online
  • 5–7 years full-time bookkeeping experience
  • Strong accounting principles and financial statement knowledge
  • Experience with Payroll tax filings
  • Experience with Sales tax filings
  • Experience with 1099s & W-2s
  • Proficient in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic financial modeling)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multitask

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at KPMG, Deloitte, or other CPA/consulting firms
  • Exposure to M&A transactions, valuation analysis, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, Quality of Earnings review
  • Experience analyzing historical and projected financial performance
  • Familiarity with buy-side or sell-side consulting engagements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping with QuickBooks Desktop & Online
  • Download, categorize, input, and reconcile financial transactions
  • Perform monthly reconciliations; assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Prepare and process federal/state payroll tax reports (quarterly & year-end)
  • File sales tax reports as needed
  • Prepare year-end forms including 1099s & W-2s
  • Assist with journal entries, account cleanup, and tax return preparation
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with clients on outstanding items
  • Review general ledgers and financial statements for M&A due diligence
  • Identify unusual or non-recurring transactions affecting valuation
  • Prepare post-acquisition viability analysis for purchase decisions
  • Develop common-size statements and comparative analyses
  • Support preliminary valuation calculations under supervision
  • Conduct basic market, industry, and competitor research
  • Prepare Excel financial models, performance analyses, and summary schedules
  • Collaborate with senior consultants on M&A transactions and engagements
