About The Position

The BOLD Assistant supports the Women’s BOLD Leadership Network at Marshall University by assisting with program organization, communication, and mentor network development. This position connects scholars with mentors, manages outreach, and helps plan events. The Student Assistant works closely with the BOLD Director and the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to conduct independent research

Responsibilities

  • Mentor Network Expansion Research potential mentors through university/staff directories, alumni networks, and external organizations.
  • Organize and maintain an updated database of potential mentors, including professional backgrounds and contact information.
  • Identify and connect with potential mentors through email or phone calls to share information about the BOLD program and invite them to participate.
  • Communication and Outreach: Draft and send professional emails to BOLD scholars, mentors, and community partners regarding upcoming events, opportunities, and updates.
  • Assist with creating promotional or information materials.
  • Event Coordination and Support: Assist with planning and scheduling events, workshops, and guest speaker sessions.
  • Help organize events and cohort materials, including name tags, slide content, or folders.
