BRF maintains its headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macedon, New York; with a Culinary Innovation Center in Westmont, Illinois; and offices and manufacturing facilities in Williamson, New York; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Corona, California. This role is located at our Pennsauken, NJ facility. Responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of High-pressure steam boilers and Facilities/Utility related equipment within a New Jersey Manufacturing facility. This role ensures continuous steam supply and infrastructure equipment, while maintaining compliance with State of New Jersey regulations, environmental requirements and company safety standards.  Our Facilities Team follows a 2-2-3 shift schedule, providing a consistent routine for work-life balance.   Sample 2-2-3 Shift Schedule:  Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday - Off Wednesday, Thursday - Work Friday, Saturday, Sunday  Week 2: Off Monday, Tuesday - Work Wednesday, Thursday - Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday Shift hours for this position are Days 5:45am- 06:00pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of operating High-Pressure Steam Boilers
  • Knowledge of steam systems, feedwater treatment, and combustion controls
  • Ability to monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot boiler equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read manuals, gauges, drawings

Nice To Haves

  • New Jersey BLUE Seal Boiler Operator License (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers in accordance with NJ state regulations.
  • Maintain required logs per New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain Steam pressure and temperature Fuel supply systems (natural gas / Fuel oil) Blowdown and conductivity levels Deaerator systems, condensate return systems, feedwater pumps, and related equipment.
  • Perform daily boiler inspections and safety checks.
  • Maintain proper boiler water chemistry (coordinate with water treatment vendor as needed).
  • Support environmental compliance related to emissions and wastewater discharge.
  • Maintain housekeeping in boiler and utility areas.
  • Communicate shift status, operational concerns, and maintenance needs to Boiler Chief & Facilities Supervisor.
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure uninterrupted steam supply.
  • Maintain required NJ Blue Seal Boiler Operator License
  • Monitor and Maintain Building Infrastructure Utility equipment, such as Chiller Plant, Glycol/Chilled Water system, Compressed Air Systems, Domestic & Filtered water systems, Condensate Return Systems, Wastewater system, Chemical Deliver System, and Bulk Nitrogen system.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • Monitor Fire/Life Safety systems, including Fire Alarm, Wet, and Dry Sprinkler systems
  • Utilize CMMS/work order systems to document maintenance activities.
  • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and determine corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to facility emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
  • Operate tools and equipment associated with Buildings and Grounds Maintenance.
  • Work Closely with Facilities Technician & Facilities Supervisor on projects throughout plant
  • Basic computer proficiency and effective communication skills are required, including the ability to navigate CMMS platforms, utilize Microsoft Teams for collaboration, and manage email communication in a timely and professional manner.
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
