Repairs of all piping, valves, gauges, pumps, motors, steam traps, strainers, check valves and relief valves. Repairs and/or installs control transformers, electrodes, relays, solenoids, switches, thermostats, theostats, aquastats, circulating, generating pumps, and fuel pumps.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 years boiler operational experience.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Employee to furnish own hand tools.
  • Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write proficiently in the English language.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and walkways.
  • Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Must recognize and determine the correct method for correcting malfunctions on boiler systems and appurtenances.
  • Performs visual, audible, and mechanical checks.
  • Checks gauges, recording devices and controllers.
  • Must understand the principles of steam and generating processes.
  • Must be familiar with burner controls and its operations on both oil and gas configurations.
  • Respond to emergency call outs as requested.
  • Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Accuracy and timeliness in processing material requests within own department.
  • Tools and equipment within his or her possession.
  • Using PPE when required.
  • Timely, cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
  • Adherence to all Safety rules and regulations.
