See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team, you will be working by the water, with our large variety fleet of boats, as a dynamic individual to handle training and onboarding for our club members! Freedom Boat Club is the nation’s oldest and largest private member boat club, and we are looking for a highly customer-focused US Coast Guard Captain to join our training staff. This position is part-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. At Brunswick & Freedom Boat Club, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Requirements

  • Must hold a US Coast Guard Captains License
  • Near Coastal Captain's License required
  • Boating experience in and around boats (operating boats)
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Highly effective communications skills and friendly customer service
  • High attention to detail
  • Availability to regularly work weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies

  • Previous instructor experience
  • Ability to read and manipulate handheld tablets, electronics knowledge & utilization (Smartphone / tablet)
  • Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude
  • Ability to be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised

Responsibilities

  • Check in / Finalize with a tablet of vessels with members
  • Moving from docks to boats and vice versa, unstable & wet surfaces.
  • Large drops (~4ft) down to vessels & back up to dock
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Handle minor member mishaps or incidents while maintaining friendly disposition
  • Red Carpet Level of Treatment to members and guests
  • Anticipate and address members’ needs and thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Communicating with potential members about FBC
  • Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette
  • Familiarize yourself with local waters in order to provide basic guidance to members
  • Professional communication with co-workers, corporate, and members
  • Ensure your uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
  • Work outside in the state’s elements and stand for an extended period of time
