About The Position

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Boat Test & Warranty Technician is responsible for assisting and supporting in boat testing VDT products and analysis and repairs of Velvet Drive products. This role will also support by assisting in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of marine equipment and systems while working alongside seasoned professionals and engineers. Adheres to and ensures that all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements are followed at all times throughout the facility and when working outside of the facility. This position requires frequent driving of company vehicles while towing an approximately 30-foot, company-owned trailer and boat. Having and maintaining a clean driving record is required for this position. Punctuality and reliable attendance are a must for this position. Effective stewardship of the Company’s financial resources. Follow the Company’s policies and standard operating processes. CORE DEPARTMENT JOB FUNCTIONS: Adhere to Production Department budget. Contributes to maintaining a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and complying with standards, rules, regulations, and policies regarding safety protocols. Report on any workplace conditions that appear dangerous or potentially hazardous when working inside or outside the facility. Immediately report all accidents, moving violations, and license suspensions. Follow the proper procedures for the safe use of tools and equipment associated with the employees’ position and properly maintain equipment. Immediately report any workplace injury or illness to your manager and Human Resources. Attends all required Safety-related training and or communication sessions CORE POSITION JOB FUNCTIONS: Adheres to and follows all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements throughout the facility and when working outside of the facility. Will drive short and long distances to lake (s) and/or other facilities. Assists with lake testing products as needed. Load and unload V-Drives and or Transmission Inspection of the company vehicles and vessels prior to any use Complete any safety logs for company vehicles and vessels Obey all driving laws all times while driving company vehicles and vessels Must immediately report all accidents, moving violations, and license suspensions to HR. Physically changing or assisting in the of V- Drives or Transmissions Participate in troubleshooting and diagnostics of marine systems under the guidance of senior Engineers. Assist in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of marine vessels and equipment. Document maintenance activities and contribute to maintaining accurate records of repairs and inspections. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations and project completion. Maintain company-supplied tools. Maintain company boats and report maintenance suggestions to management. Assists with Engineering projects as assigned by management. Learn the fundamentals of Velvet Drive product design, function, and manufacturing as assigned by management. Keep all work areas, company vehicles and boats clean at all times Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some hands-on experience with marine applications.
  • Basic understanding of marine systems and equipment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive company vehicles based on driving record.
  • Must not have any boating convictions and be able to safely operate boat
  • Must have experience in towing and maneuvering large objects (boats).
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work full-time schedule.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
  • Steel-toe nonslip shoes are required; must be able to wear all PPE and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time and must be able to bend and lift heavy materials.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include mill cutting liquids and fumes.
  • Must be open to crossing training in other positions, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
