About The Position

Love boats? Know them inside and out? Turn your boating knowledge into a high-earning career buying and selling used boats. River Valley is hiring a Marine Buyer & Consignment Specialist to work directly with private boat owners and fellow boating enthusiasts. You’ll source, evaluate, consign, and sell used boats while building strong relationships in the boating community. This is not an entry-level role and not a desk job. It’s built for someone with real marine experience who wants to turn that knowledge into income. Marine technicians, service advisors, and boat sales professionals are strongly encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of boats (models, condition, values)
  • Comfortable working independently with performance expectations
  • Confident working face-to-face with customers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience using Facebook Marketplace and Messenger
  • Detail-oriented with paperwork and contracts
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and results-driven

  • Marine Technician
  • Service Advisor
  • Boat Sales or Used Boat Manager
  • Marine or Powersports Dealership Experience
  • Experience with Lightspeed / Lightspeed EVO, DP360, or Excel is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Source and acquire quality used boats from private sellers
  • Build and manage a profitable consignment inventory
  • Evaluate boat condition, value, and market pricing
  • Negotiate with sellers and buyers
  • Sell boats through Facebook Marketplace and Messenger
  • Assist with boat sales during events and on the showroom floor
  • Manage titles, contracts, and paperwork accurately
  • Maintain a clean, professional lot and showroom
  • Follow dealership processes and sales standards
