At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking Boat Rental Attendants to join our Aquatics team! This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, interacting with the public, and supporting recreational activities in a lakefront setting. Boat Rental Attendants are the concierge of the boat rental operations at Lake Anne Plaza and the Lake Audubon Boat Ramp, providing friendly assistance with the rental process, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and serving as the public face of Reston Aquatics. Responsibilities include preparing the reception area and boats, processing waivers and sales, fitting life jackets, assisting customers on and off boats, maintaining daily logs, performing routine cleaning, securing boats at the end of each shift, and assisting with emergency response when needed. Attendants may also operate personal watercraft such as kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, or pedal boats for maintenance tasks. All work is performed in an outdoor environment near and around recreational water. Candidates must hold a current American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification (provided upon hire) and are expected to consistently demonstrate the skills outlined in their certification, adhere to all standards and protocols associated with it, and maintain its validity through ongoing compliance and renewal as required. This position offers 5–20 hours per week from May-September on Saturdays and Sundays. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change. Hourly wage will be based on the candidate’s experience, education, and overall fit for the role.

Requirements

  • Age 16+
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a diverse population
  • Passionate about great customer service and engaging with your community
  • Comfortable in open-water environments and working with personal watercraft
  • Friendly, confident, and well-spoken demeanor
  • Physical ability to move up to 50 lbs, hear whistle alerts from 50 yards, see hand gestures from 25 yards. (Corrective eyewear and assistance devices are permitted)
  • Current certifications in: American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (provided upon hire)
