About The Position

The Boat Assembler is responsible for assembling parts onto the boat per the order description, utilizing the correct tools and proper methods to attain the required installation standards. The role requires caution and adherence to safety protocols, particularly when working in the QC 2 section, where hoists are used to lift decks and other large items. Additionally, the assembler must be comfortable working in confined spaces within the boat during certain installations.

Requirements

  • Operate an electric motorized pallet jack.
  • Operate a hoist to lift decks in the air and other large items.
  • Give full attention to what others are saying while taking time to understand their points and asking questions when necessary.
  • Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  • Manage time effectively and respect the time of others.
  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to make appropriate decisions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Perform tasks under time pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly for others to understand.
  • Detect potential issues or errors before they occur.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools and familiarity with installation methods.
  • Use a variety of hand tools including tape measure, razor knives, screw guns, drills, ratchet, etc.
  • Use a variety of power tools, such as impact drill, power drill, impact socket, or pneumatic buffing tool.

Responsibilities

  • Mates deck with the hull of the boat.
  • Install fuel lines, front-end mating, and final wiring.
  • Install small parts onto the hull.
  • Install rub rails.
  • Install windshield components.
  • Install engine bay hatch and surrounding parts.
  • Install floorboard.
  • Install ski platform and transom accessories.
  • Inspect the gel coat for imperfections and sand down defects.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, including tape measures, razor knives, screw guns, drills, and ratchets.
  • Inspect all parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to complete daily tasks.
  • Follow instructions provided by the Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.
