About The Position

"The Boarding Specialist will be responsible for reviewing new customer applications for approval onto our credit card processing rails in adherence to our Payment Facilitator Underwriting guidelines and procedures. Your role will involve reviewing applications for completion in adherence to FINCEN Know Your Customer regulations, business and controlling/owner verification, and assessing any risk associated with the account. As an Boarding Specialist, you will be responsible for correctly and efficiently gathering all documents to submit to underwriting for our new customers. You will be serving as the senior subject matter expert for our Compliance and Professional Services team on best practices on Know Your Customer practices and ensure merchants get onboarded most efficiently. This role will be the intersecting point of imperative merchant information, holding the key to a smooth and pleasant onboarding experience for new and existing customers."

Responsibilities

  • Complete underwriting for any and all new clients to create a new merchant account
  • Assess the risk associated with each application based on underwriting guidelines
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of information provided
  • Identify potential risks associated with new policies
  • Determine appropriate underwriting actions to mitigate risk
  • Act as senior subject matter expert on underwriting procedures and KYC, first point of escalation for merchant profile issues
  • Peer training within the underwriting and merchant boarding function to successfully fulfill service level agreements
  • Coordinate all merchant level profile reviews on a routine basis according to payment facilitator and FBO policies
  • Provide feedback loop to Solution Adoption team to improve merchant boarding process
  • Build and maintain relationship with key points of contact with various processors and vendors
  • In-house subject matter expert on payment facilitator merchant underwriting / “Know Your Customer” (KYC)
  • Support implementation calls with Professional Services team members to guide new clients through the merchant onboarding process
  • Keep the department leader apprised of any escalations needed during boarding, hold-ups on account approvals, and status of assigned work
  • Create payment facilitator merchant risk profile
  • Responsible for creating knowledge articles/content and troubleshooting guides for internal teams for new operational workflows and training teams on appropriate paths for escalation
  • Document and prioritize product requests from internal teams regarding partner operations
