About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Board Relations Manager to support the mission, governance, and strategic priorities of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring effective board operations, engagement, and alignment with institutional priorities. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Board Relations Manager provides comprehensive oversight and coordination for the Board of Trustees, Alumni Association Board, and all related committees. The Manager leads board operations using best-practice governance standards, ensuring efficient processes, clear communication, and a high-quality experience for board members and university leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience
  • Experience in board relations, governance, administration or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the annual board work plan and calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate all aspects of board and committee meetings, including agenda development, materials preparation, logistics, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in governance, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a primary liaison to Trustees, Alumni Association Board members, and committee participants.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and senior leadership to support board engagement, communication, and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate onboarding, training, and ongoing support for board members.
  • Oversee documentation and recordkeeping for board activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support high-level volunteers and university leadership to enhance board effectiveness and engagement.
