About The Position

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BCBA will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, proposing IEP goals and objectives related to behavior, conducting functional behavioral assessments, developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, training staff and providing proactive and reactive support to students in crisis.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Master's Degree and current BCBA/LBA Certification
  • Must pass federal and local background checks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Once certified, must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize safety sare procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-district programming in partnership with the Director of Student Services
  • Build staff capacity through training, modeling, and monitoring of student data and outcomes.
  • Provide consultation to district staff regarding student intervention and instruction.
  • Streamline the data collection process, train staff on data collection, and monitor the collection of data, which includes graphing progress.
  • Develop behavioral goals to monitor treatment.
  • Attend all relevant meetings and present data and progress reports.
  • Train classroom and support staff on all aspects of behavior intervention plans.
  • Conduct on-site observations of implementations, competency reviews of staff, and treatment integrity checks to assess plan implementation and guide staff training.
  • Provide skills-based training to district staff on behavior analytic topics to be determined with the administrative team.
  • Assist with planning and oversight of the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction based on principles of applied behavior analysis and current research.
  • Co-author and review behavior goals and objectives for IEPs to ensure appropriateness and adherence to best practice standards
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA).
  • Write comprehensive, individualized behavior intervention plans based that incorporate reinforcement systems, alternative replacement behaviors, reactive strategies, etc.
  • Monitor school-based restraint and seclusion data.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services.
