About The Position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavioral assessment, consultation, and intervention support for students with special needs across CMP campuses. The BCBA collaborates with teachers, staff, and families to develop evidence-based behavior intervention plans and to train and coach staff in implementation. This role directly supports CMP’s mission by ensuring students are provided with safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments that foster independence and academic success.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or related field.
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing behavioral support in school or clinical settings.
  • Expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), evidence-based behavioral interventions, and ethical guidelines.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a diverse team of educators, families, and related service providers.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to train, coach, and provide feedback to staff.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, California Education Code, and compliance requirements.
  • Commitment to Montessori philosophy and inclusive practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing training or professional development to school staff.
  • Prior supervisory experience with RBTs, behavior assistants, or instructional staff implementing behavioral supports.
  • Familiarity with special education compliance, IDEA, and California Education Code requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in accordance with IDEA and California Education Code.
  • Provide direct modeling, coaching, and consultation to teachers, instructional assistants, and administrators on implementing behavior support strategies.
  • Train and supervise Instructional Assistants (IAs), Behavior Technicians, and/or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), ensuring fidelity to student behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to integrate behavioral support with academic and social-emotional goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and present behavioral data to drive decision-making and progress monitoring.
  • Provide professional development on topics such as classroom management, positive behavior supports, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Assist District staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans, ABA strategies, and other appropriate interventions for students with Autism and/or other disabilities that present behavior/learning challenges.
  • Support crisis response and assist in de-escalation, restraint, or seclusion procedures in compliance with Education Code.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements, including Behavior Emergency Reports (BERs) and service logs.
  • Provide strategies to support behavior management to site level intervention teams.
  • Partner with families to foster consistency between school and home support.
  • Travel between multiple CMP campuses to provide site-based support.
