The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) develops, oversees, and monitors individualized behavioral intervention and skill-building programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. This role includes staff training, data review, program revisions, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure consistent, ethical, and effective services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Strong foundation in positive behavioral supports
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Active BCBA certification (required)
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • PCM Level II certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Completion of all APD-required training certifications upon hire
  • All candidates must pass a Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse) prior to employment
  • Ability to lift 25–50 pounds
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and apply approved physical holds
  • Ability to sit, stand, travel between locations, and use computer systems regularly

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and revise Behavioral Analysis Support Plans (BASP)
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports with data and visual analysis
  • Present BASPs to APD Local Review Committees (LRC)
  • Complete reactive strategy reporting and APD/HBD documentation
  • Monitor behavioral data at least weekly and adjust programs accordingly
  • Maintain organized, confidential clinical records
  • Provide billable behavioral services within ADT settings
  • Accurately document work hours to meet APD requirements
  • Provide competency-based BASP training to residential and ADT staff
  • Model appropriate interactions and provide constructive feedback
  • Conduct and document monthly fidelity reviews per APD standards
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team and psychology meetings
  • Attend annual support plan meetings
  • Communicate respectfully with staff, families, guardians, and individuals served
  • Support individuals during community-based specialist appointments when needed
