About The Position

Provides behavior analytic services to support special education staff, general education teachers and administrators in the provision of behavioral supports and services designed to assist students in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA, Arkansas law and regulations, as well as other applicable statutes and regulations. Provides district-wide support and training regarding behavior intervention techniques to certified staff, para professionals, and administrators. Design, develop and implement, with appropriate district approvals, management and/or behavioral interventions. Participate on behavior teams providing support and management for the implementation of behavior plans. Maintain appropriate records, assist, and provide guidance for teachers and other staff in the implementation for behavioral interventions. Provide coaching and professional development to staff on behavior interventions and supports. Participate in Planning and Placement Team meetings on an as-needed basis. Confer with general education classroom teachers, along with special education teachers and administrators regarding students with various disabilities and behavioral challenges. Provide consultation to district Special Education team for building-by-building safety plans, Tier III behavior intervention plans and other supports. Train staff and/or family members directly on implementation of behavior support plans. Assist with maintaining student behavioral data. Consult and/or conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to inform the development of Individualized FBA/BIP/Positive Behavior Support plans. Conduct evaluations for purposes of identification or reevaluation of special education services in conjunction with other evaluations (as needed). Assist with developing and providing staff training and preparation for working effectively with students with various exceptionalities as well as those students with other behavioral disorders. Monitor and observe student behaviors inside and outside the classroom setting. Respond and support student behavioral crisis situations. Maintain emotional control under stress. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. Serve on committees as assigned. Ability to work with an ethnically and educationally diverse group of students, parents, and staff. Maintains prompt and regular attendance Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others Provide research based target interventions and monitor progress, to support the integration of behavior supports. Requirements

  • BCBA certification required.
  • Candidate must hold a Master’s Degree.
  • Expertise in the field and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Disturbance, and other challenging behaviors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in public schools from PreK through age 21, preferred.
  • Knowledge of ABA therapy.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is preferred.
