The BCaBA specialist, under the supervision of a BCBA, will work with classroom teachers, specialists and support staff to assist in developing, implementing and monitoring behavioral and educational IEP goals with students who are on the autism spectrum and/or have behavioral challenges. The BCaBA conducts descriptive behavioral assessments. Is able to interpret the results and design ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions for students. The BCaBA designs and oversees interventions that are consistent with the dimensions of applied behavior analysis. The BCaBA obtains technical direction from a BCBA for unfamiliar situations. The BCaBA is able to teach others to carry out interventions and supervise behavioral technicians once the BCaBA has demonstrated competency with the procedures involved under the direct supervision of a BCBA. The BCaBA may assist a BCBA with the design and delivery of introductory level instruction in behavior analysis. It is mandatory that each BCaBA practice under the supervision of a BCBA. The BCaBA will assist with the coordination of daily schedules. The BCaBA will assist in developing and monitoring behavior intervention plans, and discrete trials. Will summarize and graph daily discrete trial data. Provides direct consultation and support for students and staff as needed and requested by Special Educator or BCBA. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to improve programs and procedures. Any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisor
