We are seeking a Battery Management System (BMS) Intern in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will assist with the design, production and testing of lithium-ion battery management systems. The intern will be assigned a project and mentored by a senior staff member this fall from approximately September to November.

Requirements

Interns are generally college students pursuing STEM degree programs. There are no specific restrictions on major, graduation year or progress.
Must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for US military testing and use.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Successful candidates will be both quality and detail oriented, be team oriented and flexible.
To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

Battery (or related) industry exposure or some coursework including battery science/technology is preferred but not required.
Solidworks, Altium, and/or Matlab experience a plus

Responsibilities

Support Battery Management System (BMS) and wire harness design and development.
Writing C code
Electrical testing on BMS boards.
Basic data work up and reporting to supervisors.
Develop, write, and follow standard operating procedures and methods.
Maintain a clean, organized work area.
Comply with Navitas policies and procedures.
Perform in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
Follow all safety policies and operate in a safe manner.
On site presence is essential and necessary.
Other duties as assigned by management.
