About The Position

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Blueprint Room Associate to support the Norton office. The primary function of this position is to provide support to the Blueprint Room Coordinator printing and shipping blueprints, inputting data, receiving submittals, acquiring permits, and creating Test Certificates and Hydraulic Plates. This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast paced multi-tasked environment with a focus towards administration, organization, reporting, and data management. S.A. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in construction or mechanical operations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create weekly reports; reporting submittals and close-outs.
  • Update submittal log weekly by inputting information such as authority, job name and number, original submittal date, General Contractor information, building department information, and fire department information - save and file these on computer in the appropriate location.
  • Scan any Test Certificates that are received and save PDF in correct location on computer, also print Test Certificate and file in appropriate binder.
  • Perform daily filing functions – file permits, submittals, and transmittals by job.
  • Pull files when Operation & Maintenance Manual is sent and place in “Closed Out Job” drawer.
  • Ensure all filing is done neatly and cabinets remain organized.
  • Copy, scan, save, and file permits that are received.
  • Fill out Test Certificates and Hydraulic Plates daily and send to specified person, record what was completed in the design log.
  • Prepare packages daily to be sent via UPS, follow appropriate steps to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • When a designer gives a drawing, master job sheet, calcs, and/or cut sheet submittal form look up municipality to determine how many copies are needed and if any money needs to be included.
  • Communicate with designer and/or General Contractor about what format (hard copy or electronic) they would like their submittal form and follow through with request, get materials ready to be shipped.
  • Perform revisions and resubmittals as requested, file and make copies of any information necessary, then follow same procedure as done with original submittal.
  • Complete index sheet for product data submittal daily then copy and file appropriately.
  • Create Operations & Maintenance Manuals as needed; entering necessary information and updating the Close-Out Progress Report.
  • Prepare and organize all binders that are needed for Blueprint Room functions.
  • Feed rolls of paper into blueprint machine, replace ink when needed, and ensure all machines in Blueprint Room are operating correctly.
  • Handle heavy blueprints, supplies, machinery, and tags in the proper manner – requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel to job sites as needed and adhere to all safety guidelines.
