Blow Molding Equipment Maintenance Mechanic You arrive on shift, greet production, and make a quick pass through the blow molding lines. A trimmer needs a fine adjustment, a palletizer is ready for a PM, and a hydraulic hose shows early wear. You prioritize, act, and keep the plant running safely and efficiently—because reliable equipment is the heartbeat of Altium Packaging. What You’ll Do Champion safety and regulatory compliance across the plant. Install, align, adjust, and repair blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers, and related systems. Complete mold, neck tooling, pin, and other changeovers with precision. Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses; rebuild or swap valves and pumps. Execute preventive maintenance to sustain peak performance and uptime. Tune equipment to maintain optimal processing conditions. Weld, fabricate, and repair machine components as needed. Diagnose root causes and repair blow molders, baggers, and support equipment. Operate blow mold or injection equipment when required. Collaborate frequently with production, quality, and leadership. Adapt duties to plant-specific equipment and layouts; follow direction from Lead Technician or Supervisor. Handle other tasks as assigned; expect reasonable mandatory overtime based on business needs. What You Bring Solid basics: math, computer literacy, and foundational pneumatics/hydraulics knowledge. Keen attention to detail and craftsmanship. Preferred 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. OSHA forklift certification. Physical Demands Regular standing and walking; frequent use of hands for fine work and reaching; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs frequently. Work Environment Production environment with moving mechanical parts and elevated noise. Plant temperatures vary by season (hot and cold). PPE is required in production and designated areas.
