Blood Transfusion Nurse
About The Position
We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Blood Transfusion Nurse (Registered Nurse) to join our clinical team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering safe, high-quality transfusion care while closely monitoring patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Requirements
- Active RN license
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN; BSN preferred)
- Blood transfusion competency and IV/venipuncture experience
- BLS required (ACLS preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and patient-safety mindset
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oncology, hematology, med-surg, ICU, or emergency care
- Confidence working in fast-paced or high-acuity environments
Responsibilities
- Safely administer blood and blood products following established protocols
- Verify patient identity, orders, and blood product compatibility
- Monitor patients before, during, and after transfusions
- Recognize and respond to transfusion reactions
- Document all transfusion activities accurately
- Educate patients and families throughout the transfusion process
