About The Position

A registered nurse who manages the financial, human and other resources for the provision of quality patient care for the donor center, apheresis and photopheresis units. The Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining all policies and procedures and for assuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred (with emphasis in nursing administration preferred).
  • Current licensure in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, within the guidelines of State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Certification by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Five years of nursing experience required to include three years’ experience of hospital clinical practice and demonstrated leadership management capabilities.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership.
  • Apheresis/ Blood Bank experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, plans and manages the Donor Center, apheresis and photopheresis units in alignment with accepted standards of practice and the department and hospital goals
  • Possess an advanced knowledge of procedures and instrumentation to monitor performance, train staff and perform procedures when patient volume and staffing dictates.
  • Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees human resources, operations, and manages staff and expenses/budget to maintain the highest standards of care and fiscal stability.
  • Responsible for strategic development: develops staff, services and facilities to meet new and existing needs.
  • Works on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further advancements in treatment and care and the overall goals of the organization.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the leadership standards and core values of the Hospital.
