About The Position

This role requires understanding of chemical blending, material SDS, equipment setups and changeovers. This position coordinates daily for inventory and material transaction to ensure production is running smoothly and quality products are going out to our customers. This position reports to the department supervisor and will interface with warehouse personnel. On a daily basis our Blending Technician: Maintain and operate blending, product transfer and ancillary equipment in accordance with each batch ticket and product record requirements to ensure first run capability. Pull and print batch records, track daily detailed efficiency reports. Review and check the batch ticket and raw materials for accuracy and completeness operate pumps, blenders, mixers, filters, standing and seated lift trucks and related process equipment. Measure ingredient in correct quantity and sequence in accordance with batch formulations instructions. Document all pertinent information and accurately maintain records and reports. Draw samples and perform quality tests (pH, viscosity, specific gravity, etc.) to ensure compliance with product specifications on all produced blends. Maintain safety and housekeeping in the blending area. Wash down and flush out blending tank and mixer and all process equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Experience in chemical blending (2-3 years preferred).
  • Ability to read bill of materials, blending instructions, and carry out directions as necessary.
  • Proficiency in industrial and business mathematical computations.
  • Computer, verbal, and written skills (familiarity with J.D Edwards AS400 preferred) and literacy in MS Office.
  • Mathematical, organizational, and mechanical skills in production
  • This is a safety sensitive position that requires for the technician to be medically certified to wear a respirator during occasional exposures during shifts.
  • Lift up to 50lbs.
