About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow supervisor instructions to safely move wind tower sections, set up, and operate media blasting equipment in alignment with the daily production schedule. Perform precision media blasting of tower sections to meet detailed customer specifications before submitting components for quality inspection. Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet production targets; maintain and take ownership of provided tools and equipment. Execute tasks with accuracy and urgency to ensure timely delivery of defect-free products. Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures. Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by embracing Lean Manufacturing principles and supporting change initiatives. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Maintain a clean & organized work area; utilize safe work habits. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
  • Be able to stand for long periods while using a high-pressure blast hose.
  • Be able to wear a fresh air supplied blast helmet for up to 10-12 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing, blasting, or industrial surface preparation is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings is a plus.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with standard and metric measurements are helpful.
  • Must be able to work safely, follow procedures, and wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Forklift or crane certifications are a bonus but not mandatory.
