About The Position

The Blackbaud Implementation and Configuration Consultant will play a pivotal role in guiding Phillips Academy through the configuration, implementation, and optimization of Blackbaud’s Education Management solutions. This position will report to the Office of Information Technology and collaborate closely with our core implementation team to assess operational needs, design and implement solutions, and ensure best practices for data integrity, workflow efficiency, and user adoption. This is a temporary, two-year assignment. The position is full-time and eligible for benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience configuring and implementing Blackbaud Education Management solutions, or similar education management platforms.
Strong understanding of K-12 or higher education operations, processes, and data management requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, especially as they relate to system implementation and integration.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, support, and guide users at all levels throughout the implementation process.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and implementations simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience with data migration, integration, and reporting during implementation of Blackbaud or other SIS/LMS platforms.
Familiarity with SQL, APIs, and process automation tools.
Understanding of education compliance, privacy, and security standards, particularly as they relate to implementation projects.

Nice To Haves

Blackbaud certifications or relevant technical credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the full lifecycle of Blackbaud Education Management products, including both configuration and implementation of Blackbaud’s Student Information System (SIS), Enrollment and Tuition Management solutions, and related modules.
Work directly with the core team to plan and execute each phase of system implementation, from initial setup and data migration to rollout and post-launch support.
Consult with stakeholders to analyze business requirements, translating them into effective system configurations and implementation strategies.
Customize system settings, data fields, and workflows to align with academy policies, and oversee the implementation of these processes to ensure smooth adoption.
Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and develop comprehensive project plans for successful system implementation and configuration. Manage transition from legacy systems to Blackbaud
Provide training and ongoing support to administrative staff, faculty, and end-users to maximize system adoption, functionality, and effectiveness.
Document implementation and configuration decisions, system customizations, and create clear user guides and technical documentation.
Troubleshoot issues arising during implementation or configuration, recommend solutions, and coordinate with Blackbaud support as needed.
Stay current with Blackbaud product updates, implementation best practices, and emerging trends in education technology.
