ANSER is seeking a Biosurveillance Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (ODASD(CBRND)). In this key role, you will work as part of a team that integrates and coordinates biosurveillance requirements, strategies, and acquisition efforts. This position can support a hybrid work schedule with job duties performed 3-4 days per week onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA and / or Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Requirements

  • Possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in the physical or life sciences
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in the biosurveillance / biodefense mission space.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Experience working as an action officer at a headquarters staff/component command level.
  • Experience working with, briefing, and engaging General Officer/Flag Officer/SES-level personnel.
  • Ability to lead disparate teams and build coalitions within a community of interest.
  • Ability to travel to meetings in the National Capitol Region.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in Program Management and/or certification in Engineering and Technical Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Work experience in biodefense and biosurveillance is preferred.
  • Pentagon headquarters or Defense Health Agency work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and update of a biosurveillance strategy and implementation plan that is aligned to the National Biodefense Strategy and Department of Defense (DoD) Biosurveillance Strategy.
  • Update and oversee an overarching biosurveillance implementation plan in support of the ODASD(CBRND) Biosurveillance Team.
  • Ensure the biosurveillance implementation is aligned to DoD biosurveillance requirements and strategies.
  • Oversee the development of implementation and operational plans for biosurveillance efforts and monitor progress against the plans.
  • Coordinate and integrate biosurveillance efforts within the DoD, to include the Defense Health Agency, and with interagency partners.
  • Develop biosurveillance-related products, including briefings, talking points, situational awareness notes, and read-aheads, in support of the Biodefense Council.
