The College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Delaware seeks an experienced, innovative, and highly motivated individual for an open-rank, continuing-track (non-tenure) faculty appointment in the Biostatistics Core, beginning August 15, 2026. The candidate will serve as a key member of research teams across the College, supporting faculty research by providing expertise in study design, advanced statistical analysis, and collaboratively contributing to grant applications and research dissemination. The appointee will hold a continuing-track (CT) faculty appointment affiliated with one of the College’s departments, aligned with the candidate’s expertise and research interests. The position is primarily research-focused, with additional responsibilities including teaching one course per year and engaging in departmental and college service. The CT appointment rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. CT faculty with terminal degrees hold professorial rank and have a path to promotion to full professor. The ideal candidate will have strong statistical expertise, a demonstrated record of successful research collaboration, an appropriate level of scholarly productivity, and exceptional communication and collaboration skills. The candidate should be proficient in statistical software packages such as R and SAS, with experience in Stata, JMP, Python, Mplus, or SPSS considered an asset. Experience in designing statistical approaches for clinical trials and complex/intensive longitudinal studies, and conducting data analysis, is highly desirable. Responsibilities include: (1) contributing to grant applications by conducting power/sample size calculations, developing analysis plans, drafting analysis sections, and serving as senior personnel; (2) recommending and performing novel or optimized analytic methods to ensure reproducibility, robustness, and scientific rigor; and (3) supporting manuscript and grant report development through data visualization and writing the methods and results sections. Experience with grant-funded projects is essential. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are critical for success in this key role, which involves collaborating with diverse research teams across the College.
