About The Position

The Biospecimen Feasibility & Site Manager is responsible for feasibility, sourcing, acquiring, and managing biospecimens for research and clinical studies. This role involves working closely with clinical sites, OPOs, biorepositories, and vendors to ensure that specimens meet quality and compliance standards and are obtained in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of biospecimen requirements for research, and experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders in a scientific or clinical environment.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of biospecimen handling, regulatory compliance, and site and supply best practices
Familiarity with regulatory standards including HIPAA and regulations for the protection of human subjects in research
Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and different disease types.
Ability to make sound decisions based on supporting data and evidence
Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to research and evaluate potential solutions
Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and organizing multiple tasks with varying deadlines, complexity, and levels of urgency
Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present and collaborate with others
Excellent customer service skills including active and empathic listening, responding appropriately and completing follow-up as needed
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, clinical research or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 2 years in biospecimen feasibility, procurement, clinical research, OPOs, or biobanking.
Knowledge basic medical terminology and disease indications is required.
Experience in Microsoft office is required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of clinical workflow in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
Experience working with vendors and suppliers preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the sales team to assess the feasibility and pricing of client requests, and deliver accurate pricing estimates and project timelines.
Collaborate with clinical sites, OPOs, biorepositories, and commercial sites to procure high-quality biospecimens that meet study-specific requirements.
Coordinate terms and expectations with suppliers to secure specimens within budget and timeline constraints for collections.
Maintain communication within the sites during the collection, with potential visiting the sites to help manage collections and identify improvements to allow fast turnaround and QC.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, biorepositories, and partner sites to facilitate specimen collections.
Oversee and assess vendor performance to ensure timely and accurate specimen delivery and resolve any procurement-related issues.
Conduct regular audits of supplier processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Track and manage biospecimen collections to meet study demands, overseeing the transport and storage of specimens as required.
Provide regular updates on supply status to biorepository staff and troubleshoot any issues that may impact study timelines.
Coordinate with laboratory and logistics teams for the safe and compliant shipping of specimens.
