We are currently looking for a Bioprocess Innovation Intern at our Columbia, MD office. The 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will run from May 26, 2026 to August 14, 2026. Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Join our Science and Research team as an intern and gain invaluable professional experience. Requirements

  • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Microbiology, Chemical/Bioprocess Engineering or related field.
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time beginning on May 26, 2026 - August 14, 2026.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and small-scale cultivations is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with ability to synthesize and parse data.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with your science mentor to advance our understanding of our microorganisms and fermentation processes.
  • Cultivate and then assess performance of microorganisms in experimental conditions.
  • Analyze and interpret your experimental results, including statistical analysis and graphical presentation.
  • Prepare and present your scientific findings to the project team, stakeholders and management.
  • Prepare and present your findings at the annual Columbia Summer Intern Poster.
