About The Position

The Biomedical Equipment Technician III maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan and the Biomedical Technology Services Program. This job also performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment. This role provides technical guidance and mentoring for other employees in the department, coordinates special projects, and performs specialized technical tasks. Requirements

  • If a team member will be performing duties to offsite clinics, requiring driving between sites as a function of the job, a team member must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, with at least zero points.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the repair and maintenance of medical and electrical equipment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience or military training may be substituted.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in all skills required for a BMET I and BMET II (see BMET I & II Job Descriptions).
  • Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics or closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring for other employees in the department.

  • Conducts repairs according to procedures.
  • Maintains inventory and par levels of all instruments and supplies.
  • Follows OSHA and TJC guidelines.
  • May oversee staff in the absence of supervisor.
  • May assist with orientation and training of new employees.
