Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Biomedical Equipment Supervisor, performs repairs and calibration on medical and non-medical equipment. Has a good working knowledge of schematics and works independently on repairs, safety testing and preventive maintenance (PM). Maintains records, writes reports, and coordinates outside repairs. Participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Electronics or related field.
- One (1) year of experience in biomedical repair in a healthcare setting, OR three (3) years’ experience in biomedical service (Biomed Technician 1).
- Three (3) years’ experience in biomedical repair in a healthcare setting, OR six (6) years’ experience in biomedical service (Biomed Technician 2).
- Valid driver’s license at time of appointment and for continued employment
Nice To Haves
- CBET certification preferred but not required (Biomed Technician 2).
