About The Position

Minnesota State College Southeast seeks a Biology Instructor in our program, dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Minnesota State College Southeast are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The instructor may earn unlimited status upon completion of six successful probationary semesters.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of BIOLOGY
  • Master's degree with a major in biology or Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in biology.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom, web-enhanced and/or online course instruction.
  • Deliver courses using Open Educational Resources
  • Participate in department and college curriculum development.
  • Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
  • Mentor and advise students.
  • Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in department accreditation and review.
  • Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.
  • Advocate on behalf of students, program and college
  • Collaboration in professional development activities.
