About The Position

A professional research position to support a wildlife ecologist in developing a multidisciplinary research and extension program on the conservation of wildlife and its habitats in South Florida and the Caribbean. The incumbent will lead several ongoing research projects involving population biology of endangered species, control of invasive species, management and monitoring of natural areas, and landscape ecology. This position is time-limited based on available funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and three years of experience or Master's degree in biology or a related field with one year of relevant experience.
  • Driver's license, federal certification in airboat and motorboat operation.
  • Certification in CPR and wilderness first aid. Certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced navigating off-trail with aid of a GPS and compass.
  • Ability to operate four-wheel drive vehicles, motorboats and airboats.
  • Experience with spatial analyses of large datasets.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
