-Designs and performs experiments (including, but not limited to: mammalian and bacterial cell culture, various molecular biology techniques, and immunoassays: flow cytometry, ELISA, microscopy). -Responsible for animal sample collection, including saliva, tear, blood, exocrine glands, spleen, and lymph nodes. -Performs animal husbandry of mice by breeding and maintains the colony of various mouse strains for a number of research projects and contracts with other institutions. -Communication and generation of data sets into figures. Responsible for writing figure legends, methods, and results sections of manuscripts and grants. Additionally, oral and/or poster presentations will be performed regularly both within and outside the lab. -Confirming the lab stays in compliance with IACUC and EH&S protocols, which will include writing IACUC, EH&S (including IBC), and IRB protocols, and organizing inspections with these committees. -Training and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
