About The Position

This internship aims to recruit three students from the City University of New York (CUNY) to give the students the opportunity to experience biomedical research at Population Council. The students will learn basic skills to work in a biomedical research laboratory. The students will benefit from this internship by presenting the data at the BMCC BARS Symposium and the CUNY CRSP Symposium. Additionally, the students will be co-author in posters/manuscripts submitted to international conferences/ peer-reviewed journals. The students will be receiving a stipend from CUNY to participate in this research project. Three strong external candidates have been identified.

Responsibilities

  • The students will learn and perform calibration and maintenance of basic equipment.
  • The students will learn and perform basic cell culture procedures.
  • The students will perform cytotoxicity and antiviral assays.
