About The Position

The Properties Coordinator will assist with all operations under the Nankat Holdings LLC, ensuring optimal administration and coordination of facility operations, maintenance, security, and risk management. This position will report to the Nankat Holdings Director and work with the Administrative, Finance, Accounting and Nankat teams. This role requires strong administrative and technology/computer skills, knowledge of property management, and the ability to work effectively in Alaska's challenging weather while assisting with team organization.

Requirements

  • Authentic understanding of Indigenous values, history, and the complexity and brilliance of contemporary Native communities
  • Cultural competency to work with a diverse range of people, especially Alaska Native and rural Alaskan communities
  • Experience in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience or knowledge of property management
  • Experience with property management in Alaska or similar remote/climate conditions
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn local building codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of building systems, maintenance requirements, and security operations
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Alaska
  • Excellent communication skills and team coordination abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team and participate in collective decision making
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting
  • Proficiency in project management and budget control
  • Emergency response and crisis management experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operations of Nankat Holdings, ensuring all facilities meet quality standards
  • Serve as a main point of contact for any lease agreements or tenant concerns, addressing issues promptly
  • Administer and implement preventive maintenance programs considering Alaska's unique climate challenges
  • Coordinate with tenants, contractors, vendors, and service providers for upkeep, repairs, renovations, and upgrades
  • Help facilitate emergency response protocols for weather-related incidents and facility issues
  • Collaborate with the Nankat Holdings Director regarding facility improvement
  • Coordinate seasonal facility preparation and ongoing maintenance projects, including building readiness, grounds maintenance, equipment coordination, interior setup and maintenance, landscaping, and site development as needed
  • Assist with development of property security and facility-related emergency protocols
  • Assist with developing and maintaining security protocols, emergency response procedures, and preparedness plans for various scenarios including natural disasters
  • Assist Director, to ensure security systems and equipment are properly maintained and upgraded as needed
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required
  • Assist with development and implementation of comprehensive risk management strategies and ensure compliance with insurance requirements, safety regulations, and building codes
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and property inspections
  • Document and track all incidents, maintaining detailed records for insurance and legal purposes
  • Assist with the recruitment and training coordination of Nankat Holdings staff according to NM values and organizational goals
  • Assist with hiring and management of laborers and contractors for facility maintenance and improvement projects
  • Coordinate with key staff and NM team members as needed for equipment purchases and facility needs
  • Assist with tracking established goals and assist Nankat Director to ensure all Nankat staff have the support they need
  • Assist with facility support both in-person and remote, as needed
