About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a remote Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team! Work Schedule Monday – Friday, day shift Job Responsibilities Perform routine QC and any required downstream analyses following established work instructions for production analyses. Provide statistical analysis and/or pipeline development for new assays being brought online and validated. Communicate progress, results, concerns, and/or troubleshooting to lab staff, project managers, and/or clients. Act efficiently in an environment with dynamic timelines and changing priorities. Develop a deep understanding of the assays run in the Specialty Genomics group. Contribute to study reports, SOP creation/updates, and software lifecycle (SLC) documentation activities as needed. Establish and foster excellent working relationships with bioinformatics team members. Participate in client-facing meetings as needed to describe analysis activities and/or results, respond to client questions, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or Biology or 2 or more years professional experience in Bioinformatics 2 or more years’ Bioinformatics experience working on NGS assays, including but not limited to RNA-Seq (bulk and single cell) and DNA (WGS, WES, targeted panels, cfDNA). 2 or more years’ experience of scientific programming using Python and/or R. 2 or more years’ experience in designing, coding, and validating analysis pipelines. 2 or more years’ experience in statistical analysis methodologies. 2 or more years’ experience in a nix-based, command line environment, Bash, or other scripting skills. Preferred Qualifications 2 or more years’ experience with WDL workflows in a cloud-based environment. 2 or more years’ experience in CRO. 2 or more years’ experience understanding requirements for working under various regulatory requirements. Additional Job Standards Able to function in a fast-paced, high throughput environment. Demonstrated organizational and communication skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential. Ability to prioritize workload to effectively handle several projects at any given time. Quickly and competently train on and perform new and updated analysis methods. Understand and perform specific tasks that need to be completed daily. Identify and offer suggestions for process improvements. Ability to complete written reports as part of client deliverables. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to generate high quality data analysis. Requirements
