About The Position

Mrs. Gerry’s was founded in 1973 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Mrs. Gerry’s is a premier salad and side manufacturer and offers 120 different products which are sold coast to coast. We are looking for great team members who desire a friendly work environment and want to learn how we create delicious fresh potato salad, warm mashed potatoes, cold pasta salads, zesty dips and more. Our products enable families and friends to celebrate around the dinner or picnic table every day. STARTING WAGE: $20.40 HOURS:                    2:00 p.m. with a varying end time  DAYS:                        Monday - Friday STATUS:                  Non-Exempt SUMMARY Maintain and run the bin washer efficiently daily. Follow standard operating procedures including proper storage of clean bins.

Requirements

• Know and follow the HACCP and SQF programs, and standard operating procedures.
• Have or be able to attain a Pallet Jack and Forklift license.
• Self-motivated
• Excellent organizational skills
• Follow all food and safety procedures, including wearing of appropriate PPE.
• Team player attitude and willingness to fill in as needed.
• Have positive communication with others and timely reporting of concerns or questions.
• The ability to read, write, and speak English is necessary to meet the communication and documentation requirements associated with this role.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk push, or pull, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and push or pull.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working near moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to extreme cold and heat (non-weather).
• The employee is occasionally working in high, precarious places, may encounter fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibrations.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to set up and efficiently run the bin washer.
• Perform basic troubleshooting tasks during daily operation.
• Perform and record temperature and chemical checks on the machine.
• Check screen periodically for debris that has accumulated and clean if necessary.
• Ensure work area is clean and organized.
• Assure proper storage of cleaned bins per our SOP requirements.
• Report any issues that would interfere with efficient operation as required.
