About The Position

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) , our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. We’re seeking a reliable and dedicated full-time Billing Specialist to support our Crisis Programs in Virginia . The Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely revenue for our Crisis Programs by managing day-to-day billing, reconciliation, and claims activities across internal and external systems. This position reviews and resolves claim errors, investigates unpaid or denied claims, and partners closely with program staff, leadership, and managed care organizations to support clean claims and reduce denials. The role also plays a hand in financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement efforts, using data and analytics to strengthen billing practices and support the programs. You will while work alongside leaders in mental health, I/DD, and substance use services who truly care about your success. This position works a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm schedule. Training will be conducted onsite in Woodbridge, VA, after which the role will transition to a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing EHR systems, with a strong preference for at least 2 years of experience billing Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and MCOs.
• Proficiency in EOB interpretation and strong technical aptitude.
• Maintain a valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance.
