About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to manage the full cycle of invoice and credit memo processing. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing, maintaining customer records, and supporting internal teams with billing-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of billing or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Nexsure or AMS360.
  • Insurance/Agency Billing experience.
  • Ability to navigate through Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and distribute invoices based on requests from the Binding and Sales teams.
  • Gather and verify billing data including amounts, discounts, and applicable tax rates.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records with issued invoices and credit memos.
  • Process and track credit memos and billing exceptions.
  • Submit invoices via electronic data interchange (EDI).
  • Respond to billing inquiries from producers, Agency Assistants, CSRs, and Client Advocates.
  • Provide regular billing activity reports to management.
  • Maintain and update Specialty Lines sales tax calculations.
  • Conduct research to support accurate and complete billing.
  • Ensure high productivity and accuracy in all billing tasks.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines and avoid backlogs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
