About The Position

Offit Kurman, an Am Law 200 full-service law firm, is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage attorney-client billing portfolios, oversee the full billing cycle, and act as a liaison between attorneys, administrative staff, and the accounting team. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced law firm environment. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV. West Coast hours are preferred (but not required).

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced law firm environment required
  • Experience with Aderant, BillBlast, and eBilling platforms (or similar systems) required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to interact across all levels of the firm
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
  • High school diploma required

Responsibilities

  • Manage billing for assigned attorneys and clients, including pre-bill distribution, edits, review, finalization, and invoice delivery
  • Collaborate with attorneys to resolve billing issues and ensure accuracy
  • Respond to billing requests from attorneys and clients promptly and professionally
  • Prepare billing reports and conduct analysis as needed
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the firm, including attorneys, leadership, and administrative staff
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve billing discrepancies, escalating when necessary
  • Support continuous improvement of billing processes and workflows
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
