Beacon has an excellent opportunity available within our clinic as a Billing Customer Service Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer inquiries related to billing, payments, and account discrepancies while providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the billing or financial department.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues, payment processing, and account statements via phone, email, or chat.
  • Assist patients in understanding their bills, payment arrangements, and any discrepancies.
  • Resolve billing disputes and work closely with the billing department to rectify errors and ensure accurate billing.
  • Process payments, set up payment plans, call patients regarding past due balances, and handle refund requests according to company policies.
  • Maintain billing records and ensure all documents are accessible and up to date in the billing system.
  • Collaborate with other team members to address patient needs and enhance specialty services.
  • Provide feedback on patient issues to help improve overall billing processes.
  • Stay informed about company products, services, and policies to effectively assist patients.
