About The Position

The Manager of Billing & Collections manages the shared services functions of billing and collections for all business units within the Venture group of companies. The Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day tactical leadership to supervisors and staff and for providing strategic recommendations to company executives. This role serves as the primary facilitator capable of resolving escalated issues through coordination with the accounting, IT and operations functions of the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business-related discipline
• Minimum of 5-10 years progressive management/supervisory experience in billing, collections, or other customer service-focused functions
• Familiarity with invoicing processes of transportation management systems (TMW, McLeod) Microsoft Great Plains

Responsibilities

• Establish business procedures with focus on driving process improvement and reducing waste.
• Develop and maintain updated SOP documentation for all corporate billing and collections practices.
• Establish and maintain an engaging culture that empowers staff towards independence and problem solving.
• Hire, train and develop supervisors/team leaders with focus on performance measurement and early issue escalation.
• Consult with business unit and corporate executives to establish appropriate credit limits and collaborate on effective collection escalation strategies for delinquent accounts.
• Collaborate with IT and financial leadership to critically evaluate effectiveness of current systems and applications.
• Stay abreast of current industry developments and promote exploration of new solutions.
• Display creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation.
