About The Position

Responsible for performing the services to assist in the distribution and billing of durable medical equipment for Geisinger Sleep Services DME. Interacts with other Geisinger sleep services staff, outside agencies, insurance companies and organizations, consumers and their families. Performs duties to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. The specific statements in this profile are not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
  • Minimum of 4 years-Relevant experience (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Medical Billing : Key claims
  • Follow up on claims and resolve denials
  • Verify insurance payments
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, requests
  • Resolve issues related to DME products
  • Explain DME coverage to patients.
  • Documentation: Collect and review medical documentation to support the medical necessity of DME items
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of paperwork for claims processing
  • Verify insurance coverages and obtain necessary authorizations in a timely manner
  • Identifies delinquent accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with payor guidelines and regulations.
  • Patient Interaction: Communicate with patients via phone or in-person to understand their needs and provide support
  • Provides patient financial counseling prior to setup or supply ordering.
  • Staff Interaction : Work along with respiratory therapist to co-ordinate setup of PAP devices, supply requests and mask exchanges or fittings
  • Work with Patient Physician Liaisons in processing PAP devices and a supply requests
