The Billing Associate is responsible for the day to day billing process that includes insurance verification, prior authorizations, data entry, billing of various insurances and follow up on accounts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) working knowledge of relevant software will be appreciated
- Ability to establish and maintain courteous and professional relationship with staff, patient and others.
Nice To Haves
- Proven experience as billing clerk or general accounting experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Assists the receptionist in verifying insurances and charging self pay patients.
- Runs open item reports, corrects claim and re-bills claim.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
- Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.
