Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or billing
• Proven experience handling collections conversations directly with clients
• Comfortable following up persistently and asking for payment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• B2B or startup experience
• Familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar

Responsibilities

• Own the collections process with our customers
• Proactively follow up on past-due invoices via email and phone
• Secure payment commitments and ensure timely resolution
• Navigate objections, disputes, and delays with confidence and professionalism
• Escalate high-risk or long-overdue accounts as needed
• Generate and send accurate invoices aligned with contracts and pricing
• Ensure invoices are issued on time and include proper backup
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies that may delay payment
• Serve as the main point of contact for billing and payment-related questions
• Clearly explain charges, balances, and payment expectations
• Build trust with customers while setting firm expectations around payment terms
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve disputes quickly
• Partner with internal teams to prevent recurring billing or payment issues
• Provide feedback to improve billing clarity and collections efficiency
• Monitor AR aging and collections performance
• Maintain accurate notes and records in accounting/CRM systems
• Help build and refine collections processes in a growing startup environment
