About The Position

Horizon Health in any Horizon community is seeking a Full-Time Billing and Collections Specialist . This position manages complex billing operations, resolves escalated claims issues, analyzes denial trends, and often provides mentorship to associates, playing a critical role in the healthcare organization’s financial integrity and revenue cycle management of the organization as directed by the Billing Manager. Successful candidates for the Billing and Collections Specialist should be passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement & Analysis: Monitor and analyze claim rejection trends, recommend and implement corrective actions, and develop or revise office procedures to enhance operational efficiency and maximize reimbursement.
  • Complex Claims Processing: Assist in overseeing the billing cycle, including accurate and timely submission of complex claims to various payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers).
  • Denial Management and Appeals: Investigate and resolve denied or unpaid claims, identify the root cause of denials, and draft detailed appeal letters with supporting documentation.
