About The Position

Cole Health is hiring a Biller / Insurance Specialist to support our growing Financial Services team. If you have experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and revenue cycle management, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare environment—this could be the perfect fit. In this role, you’ll help ensure accurate claims processing, support patients and families with billing questions, and play a key part in maintaining a healthy revenue cycle.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or revenue cycle
Strong understanding of commercial insurance and Medicaid
Confident speaking on the phone with caregivers
Experience with EMR systems (Raintree preferred)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Verify commercial and Medicaid insurance benefits and document accurately in EMR systems
Communicate coverage, benefits, and balances clearly with patients and caregivers
Respond to billing and insurance inquiries with professionalism and empathy
Review and audit accounts to ensure accurate balances
Generate patient statements, manage payment plans, and support collections
Participate in daily team huddles and track intake metrics
Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times
Submit clean claims (electronic and paper) to insurance carriers
Troubleshoot and resolve billing errors, denials, and clearinghouse issues
Review accounts and recommend follow-up actions to leadership
Update patient data, insurance details, coding, and account information in EMR/Raintree systems
Reconcile billing data between systems to ensure accuracy
