About The Position

The Athol-Royalston Regional School District (ARRSD) is currently looking for an individual who can support this role as needed with Portuguese translation and interpretation. The primary function of the Recurrent Bilingual Translator/Interpreter is to facilitate communication between Athol Royalston Regional School District and families and staff through interpreting services. This includes bridging language and cultural barriers in order to protect the educational rights of families and their children.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for written and oral translation of school and District documents, including but not limited to school and ARRSD communications to families, school and ARRSD handbooks, and other school documents and letters.
• Facilitates communication between families and staff by providing oral interpretation at school meetings and events, including in person at school buildings, via telephone, and via Google Meets or similar remote platforms.
• Assists in translation for families enrolling in the school district.
• Ensures all "school to home" communications are translated appropriately.
