About The Position

DO NOT APPLY FOR THE TRANSLATOR POSITION ON School Spring. Please apply using the special paper TRANSLATOR APPLICATION found on www.williamsvillek12.org or at the reception desk of District office. The completed paper application should then be sent to Dan Murtha at [email protected] . Must live locally (attendance is required to translate/interpret) ~Applications are processed as needed. ~This is a per diem, independent contractor position ~Hours worked are dependent on need of school district.

Requirements

• Must complete NYS Education Department Fingerprinting clearance. (Please note that there is a fee for the fingerprinting if you have not been previously fingerprinted through the NYS Education Dept.)
• Must speak fluent English as well as read, speak and write fluently in language being translated.
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to establish a positive rapport with children and adults
• Punctual
• Reliable
• Must live locally (attendance is required to translate/interpret)

Responsibilities

• Provide word for word oral translation of state and district assessments
• Interpret for parent conferences, meetings and other school activities as needed
• Must physically be in attendance in order to interprete/translate.
