Will be working with and setting up equipment while performing cooking and processing of vegetables.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in both Spanish/English with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages at an intermediate to native level.
  • Two-year certificate from college or, other related technical field with five years of supervisory experience in an operations environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Safety conscious
  • Must have good recording skills and a sense for detail.
  • Familiar with or able to learn computer displays and readouts.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license.
  • When processing lines are not running will be doing various miscellaneous jobs on the lines.
  • Ability to apply common reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Capable of working through problem solving situations for the betterment of the situation.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary back up for the Production Supervisor.
  • Know and follow HACCP, SOPs and SQF programs.
  • Know and follow all Food Safety procedures.
  • Monitor cleanliness within the plant as required by HACCP.
  • Assist in production activities to help insure it is running smoothly, and quality is being met.
  • Watch and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Support, make, and implement management decisions.
  • Resolve problems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for the compliance to production standards and product yields.
  • Communication of results to team members.
  • Evaluation of personnel.
  • Management of overtime requirements.
  • Evaluate, support, and ensure proper training of employees in both English/Spanish.
  • Retrain when necessary.
